Albacore Fishery

The Albacore Fishery

Oregon albacore comes from the sustainable Pacific albacore tuna fishery. This is according to NOAA Fishwatch. Oregon albacore tastes great and is high in Omega 3 fatty acids which provide a variety of health benefits.

There are about 330 fishermen that fish for albacore off our coast. Oregon fishermen troll with hooks and lines from 30 to 60 foot boats.

The Oregon albacore commercial fishing season begins as early as June and continues through November with the majority of the catch being delivered July through September.
