Supporter Since: All my life
Favorite Seafood Dish: Bacon-wrapped Oregon albacore tuna BBQ’d on a charcoal grill.

I have lived in Brookings, OR all my life. I love this fishing town. It is a place where people work hard and makes everyone feel like they belong.

In 1982 I dove straight into the fishing business when I met my husband Ralph. He is a longtime fisherman and today we fish for Oregon Dungeness crab, salmon and albacore tuna. Our boat is the Anita Lynn.

I’ve been working as a Port Liaison with the Pacific Fish Trax’s salmon projectCROOS from the beginning. I absolutely love it, especially when I was able to see patterns emerge. I coordinate information and collection of data between the scientists and the fishermen. There are a lot of details about procedures for collecting and transferring all the data from the boats to the research labs.

I believe Pacific Fish Trax and its projects will yield great benefit to the fishermen. It will help them be able to improve salmon management in the future because it can provide a clearer perspective of what is happening out in the in the ocean.
